Mike Vincent Fisher
Musician & Performer
Hey Ya’ll! My name is Mike Vincent Fisher (but you can call me Mike!). I’m an Austin, TX-based singer/songwriter and performer. I’m a classically trained musician with over 20 years of professional experience. Whether you’ve already seen me play, or are learning about me for the first time, rest assured my goal is ALWAYS to entertain!
So, what sets me apart from other musicians? First off, I’m able to craft the perfect speaker mix; not too loud, soft, muddy or harsh. Each of my setlists are curated to fit the atmosphere of the show, and I regularly learn new songs or arrangements to keep all of my performances unique and interesting. I can move between gentle background music that blends seamlessly into an upscale atmosphere, to roaring sing-alongs and powerful rock ballads! I love to talk, joke, and enjoy myself on stage, bringing as much warmth and good energy as I can to the room.
While I mainly perform solo with an acoustic guitar, I am also a skilled keyboard player with a long history of gigging including weddings, piano bars, house parties, church services, and private black-tie events. Whatever your needs, please don’t hesitate to inquire using my contact form below.
Mike Vincent Fisher
From his first performance of Van Morrison’s “Moondance” at the Michigan State Fair, everyone could tell music was Mike’s “thing”. Fast forward dozens of bands, 100s of song releases, and 1000s of shows, that “thing” turned into a lifelong passion
Now a longtime resident of Austin, TX, Mike Vincent Fisher is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist taking his own little slice out of the thriving Texas music scene. A frequent performer at Austin’s musical wells like the Red River Cultural District and 6th Street, Mike has cut his teeth picking folk tunes on his Taylor acoustic, slammin’ the keys (along with some Deep Eddy Lemon), and belting out his songs with a big ole’ smile to anyone that would listen.
Having opened for such acts as Bright Light Social Hour, Jackie Venson, and Gary Clark Jr., Mike’s volume of work is pretty hefty; including playing bass in the bands White Label Analog and O Conqueror, and most recently tackling keys and synth with indie rock group Under the Rug. But the true meaning was always in songwriting, which is why in 2021 Mike met with producer and engineer Charles Godfrey at Scary American Studios. Best known for his work with Whiskey Myers and Third Eye Blind, Mike worked with Charles to complete his first studio album, “Have a Great Summer”, a synth-infused take on his rootsy style. The album’s first single, “Whistle Song” was met with praise from multiple media outlets, including “Chalk Pit Records” who featured the song on their monthly list of “Best New Tracks”.
With a pop rock-influenced folk style similar to Dr Dog, Portugal. the Man, or mid-2000s Spoon, and a monumental appreciation for singing-songwriting greats like Bowie, Stevens, and Beck, Mike’s music hits the hooky notes while leaving room for some “weird”. An official SXSW artist, Mike has been fortunate enough to perform some killer shows including the Good Day Austin Morning Show on Fox 7, KUTX Studio 1A, and Float Fest in San Marcos, TX. With a sync partnership through Indie Well, and a trio of fresh studio singles recorded with Nigel Clark at Root Records, be sure to watch out for Mike Vincent Fisher on the stage, screen, and through your speakers.
Yes! Weddings are some of my favorite performances. I have years of experience performing with vocals, piano, and guitar at weddings big and small, traditional and modern. I offer live music for the Prelude, Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Reception, as well as any other wedding-related event. I’m always open to work with the wedding party for song requests, custom songs, musical vows, accompaniment performances with family/friends, live audio recordings, and more fun and intimate ideas.
What are your rates?
My rates vary based on multiple factors including length of set, gear required, distance, and availability. I’m always happy to receive booking inquiries, and always do my best to work through rates we can both agree on!
Do you require a deposit for booking?
For private parties and events, a 50% deposit is required. The deposit is refundable up-to 2 weeks before the booked date.
Will you learn new songs for the show I book you at?
Of course! I love to learn new music and play it for people who enjoy and appreciate it. 1-2 songs is typically no problem. If you’d like me to learn very complex arrangements in a short amount of time, or you request 3 or more new songs, I may add a small charge for the added time and effort.
What size events do you play?
I am able to play events of all sizes from unplugged house parties of 10 or less people, to large event halls with well over 500 guests. Larger events do require more planning, or even contracting additional musicians or pro sound gear, but I’m always happy to work out those details to make an incredible show!
Are you willing to travel?
Yes, I love to travel to new places for shows.
