Compared to artists like Spoon, Dr. Dog, and Cat Stevens, Mike has been active in Austin and across the Southern US since 2014. A songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Mike plays several instruments including rhythm guitar, lead guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, keyboards, percussion, and vocals. You can catch MVF performances ranging from intimate acoustic concerts, to high energy live shows supported by loops, Ableton, and talented friends and musicians. Keep a look out in 2024 for show announcements and new music including new single releases recorded with Nigel Clark at Root Recording in Austin, TX.
Mike Vincent Fisher
From his first performance of Van Morrison’s “Moondance” at the Michigan State Fair, everyone could tell music was Mike’s “thing”. Fast forward dozens of bands, 100s of song releases, and 1000s of shows, that “thing” turned into a lifelong passion
Now a longtime resident of Austin, TX, Mike Vincent Fisher is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist taking his own little slice out of the thriving Texas music scene. A frequent performer at Austin’s musical wells like the Red River Cultural District and 6th Street, Mike has cut his teeth picking folk tunes on his Taylor acoustic, slammin’ the keys (along with some Deep Eddy Lemon), and belting out his songs with a big ole’ smile to anyone that would listen.
Having opened for such acts as Bright Light Social Hour, Jackie Venson, and Gary Clark Jr., Mike’s volume of work is pretty hefty; including playing bass in the bands White Label Analog and O Conqueror, and most recently tackling keys and synth with indie rock group Under the Rug. But the true meaning was always in songwriting, which is why in 2021 Mike met with producer and engineer Charles Godfrey at Scary American Studios. Best known for his work with Whiskey Myers and Third Eye Blind, Mike worked with Charles to complete his first studio album, “Have a Great Summer”, a synth-infused take on his rootsy style. The album’s first single, “Whistle Song” was met with praise from multiple media outlets, including “Chalk Pit Records” who featured the song on their monthly list of “Best New Tracks”.
With a pop rock-influenced folk style similar to Dr Dog, Portugal. the Man, or mid-2000s Spoon, and a monumental appreciation for singing-songwriting greats like Bowie, Stevens, and Beck, Mike’s music hits the hooky notes while leaving room for some “weird”. An official SXSW artist, Mike has been fortunate enough to perform some killer shows including the Good Day Austin Morning Show on Fox 7, KUTX Studio 1A, and Float Fest in San Marcos, TX. With a sync partnership through Indie Well, and a trio of fresh studio singles recorded with Nigel Clark at Root Records, be sure to watch out for Mike Vincent Fisher on the stage, screen, and through your speakers.

“The journey of what we hear from Fisher is simplified in synthesizers that have the right innocence so that we feel safe at every moment.”
His music may scream pop, but Fisher's latest track "Whistle Song" contains enough clever lyrics, rhythmic seduction, and raw emotion to fall into a category of its own.
